New corporate mandates for Colliers UK Retail

Vodafone has appointed Colliers to advise on its UK operational portfolio. The contract encompasses leasing, rent review and lease renewal advice across its network centres, offices, call centres and retail outlets.

The Colliers UK Retail Agency team is also working with Santander as part of its property consolidation programme advising on the freehold and leasehold disposals. This follows the bank’s announcement that it is to reduce the number of branches and offices across its UK portfolio. Colliers is advising Santander on both the UK retail and office portfolio.

Nick Roberts, Head of Property for Santander UK, said: “We look forward to working with Colliers on our property consolidation programme to maximise the potential of our UK portfolio”.

These major mandates follow Colliers Retail’s appointment last year to work with Carphone Warehouse on the disposal of 280 UK stores.

Colliers Co-Head of UK Retail Agency, Dan Simms, comments: “Just over a year ago, we started marketing the Carphone Warehouse stores at the very start of the first Lockdown. Today there are fewer than 75 stores still available. We’ve made excellent progress despite a succession of subsequent lockdowns and a very challenging retail property market.

“The new mandates from Vodafone and Santander are a further endorsement of Colliers’ UK-wide market reach, capacity to deal with very large instructions via well-resourced agency teams and our ability to advise on all aspects of retail property.”
