Koopman Rare Art finds new London home

Colliers has let 12 Dover Street in Mayfair to Koopman Rare Art which will relocate from its current gallery in Holborn.

The property provides 3,250 sq ft of new space behind a redeveloped period façade and is opposite the renowned Arts Club.

Colliers’ Peter Flint comments: “Koopman is one of the world's leading dealers specialising in antique silver, gold boxes and objets de vertu. This luxury quarter in the centre of Mayfair is a natural home for a stunning new gallery”.

Koopman Rare Art was founded by brothers Jacques and Eddy Koopman in 1952 and has traded from its London galleries at the entrance to The London Silver Vaults on Chancery Lane since 1969. As London’s pre-eminent antique silver dealers, it has formed some of the most celebrated collections and specialises in antique English silver, but also deals in Chinese, Modern and Continental silver works.

Its directors, Lewis Smith and Timo Koopman (pictured right), share a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Lewis Smith comments: “We’re excited about our move to a new home in Mayfair. The high-quality silver and objects we display will be well suited to this
wonderful building”.
